In this laugh-out-loud musical parody, Lauren Schultes battles bad dates, ruthless casting calls, and a world that insists she’s more “evil queen” than “girl next door.” From awkward encounters to theatrical betrayals, A Tall Girl’s Lament is the story of one woman’s quest to be cast as herself — and maybe find a love that isn’t intimidated by her inseam. A Tall Girl‘s Lament  was first developed as part of 2025’s SOLOCOM Festival.

As Dame Julie Andrews turns 90, Lauren Schultes reflects on the multitalented woman who has captured our hearts with her voice, grace, and resilience.

Right voice. Right look. Wrong height. We’ve come so far in the theatre world, yet we still can’t imagine a leading lady taller than her male counterpart?! Give me a break! Featuring musical parodies from Les Miserables, A Chorus Line, Wicked, and Phantom of the Opera, this show highlights the disillusionment of having an ingenue’s voice but a villain’s height (5’11), and will have you laughing the whole way through.
